The community of Lenasia and other surrounding areas will now be able to get treated for Covid-19 at the Lenasia Community Clinic. The clinic, which is being renovated and turned into a public hospital will be equipped to house and treat covid-19 patients, as the country prepares to reach its peak. The Health Department has predicted that the coronavirus peak will happen in mid-August in the country, assuring South Africans that it is working around the clock to ensure that health system doesn’t buckle under pressure. At least 100 beds were donated to the clinic, to ensure that it can house a minimum of 100 patients. Minister of Health Dr. Zweli Mkhize together with MEC for Health Dr Bandile Masuku say they are pleased with the readiness of the clinic, which will help in trying to flatten the curve.
